Having a body comes with many experiences.

Some experiences are comfortable, and others, simply are not.

I find great comfort in remembering what my therapist once said;

“We are not our experiences.”

It took me some time to grasp what she she might have been speaking about.

Reflecting on that statement, “We are not our experiences”, speaks how life is more than the sum of our experiences, or that we are not what happens to us. There are positive experiences and there are challenges and then there is this life.

When we look at the way the brain functions, often, there is greater emphasis on challenges, and our trauma or ‘undigested life experiences’ are stored until we are ready to release them.

The body is absolutely remarkable.

A healthy body can return to balance and remedy all kinds of health issues.

Every health issue at its core starts with some sort of discomfort first.

In Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy we find that the body responds to stillness as a wonderful foundation for health.

Stillness is a state of being that the body regularly enters during sleep and also during meditation.

Stillness helps the cells of the body to restore and return to balance.

Stillness for some people can be uncomfortable. Yet, the body needs it for balance. Otherwise, the constantly ‘on’ brain can send the body into unnecessary strain.

In Craniosacral Therapy we support the bodies intelligent design by providing this stillness. Meeting the body as it is, and this than naturally restores balance and health.

Because health is the bodies nature.

In Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy one of the most magical things we can do is to not interfere with this intelligent design.

We practice less doing and simply listen. This helps the body do what it does best…
