Earlier this year I genuinely thought I was dying.
I went to hospital and discovered a kidney stone was the cause of intense pain.
I’m grateful that mainstream medicine helped detect the issue.
Yet, when it came to my nervous system and the shock I was in, it didn’t recognise how pivotal a role the nervous system and what role a sense of safety plays in health.
I was steered towards surgery and repeatedly presented the worst case scenario as if it was the only option.
I questioned this perspective.
Thanks to my training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy I knew it was not the only path.
I began to provide for myself nourishing experiences, even when there was evidence that led me to feel and believe that I wasn’t safe.
I changed my diet, took supplements, received lots of bodywork, took time off work and looked at some unaddressed emotions.
I entered a kind of rite of passage and shifted some deep patterns, stress and trauma.
Thankfully, I learned to trust my body, and no longer forced my agenda on life.
As a therapist this was a blessing, to truly listen, and respond lovingly to my body, kindly prompting me to slow down.
This has been a significant turning point where health is concerned and I am grateful that I recently passed the kidney stone.
Listening to the body and to health is the cornerstone in the work of Craniosacral Therapy.
This is in my experience the most profound modality that actually works.
Craniosacral Therapy empowers the body somatically. Holistically.
It does this on a cellular level, acknowledging the basic building blocks of the body so that the body finds integration from within.
This is amazing because we are not forcing external agendas of what health should look like.
The body already knows what health and balance is.
The bodies intelligent nature knows how to return to balance and homeostasis, organically.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy supports this process and helps the return to natural health.
